oneWith everything that happened on Wednesday and this is still developing as I write this, I don’t yet want to speak about what happened in California. My thoughts and feelings are jumbled. More than that, I am so sick and tired of these things happening and I want to do something. I suspect most of us know what that something is but whether people will readily admit it or do something about it up for debate. I don’t want to ignore the shooting; I am acknowledging it. I just need to make sure that I process in such a way that the words I speak are the ones I really want to articulate. Can you feel me?

twoOne day this week, I was texting a friend frustrated over something. If I had to guess I would say moving or technology related and she ignored me and instead asked, Have you seen Harry’s instagram today? I knew Harry was in Africa but nothing specific that day and I mean, I’ve always liked Prince Harry but I have never fangirled over him. Well, you guys. Consider me an official fangirl.

Prince Harry has released this personal photo taken during his summer visit to southern Africa. Here Prince Harry shares his story behind the photograph… “After a very long day in Kruger National Park, with five rhinos sent to new homes and three elephants freed from their collars – like this sedated female – I decided to take a moment. I know how lucky I am to have these experiences, but hearing stories from people on the ground about how bad the situation really is, upset and frustrated me. How can it be that 30,000 elephants were slaughtered last year alone? None of them had names, so do we not care? And for what? Their tusks? Seeing huge carcasses of rhinos and elephants scattered across Africa, with their horns and tusks missing is a pointless waste of beauty.” Photograph © Prince Harry

three Speaking of the elephants, how cute are these? I can’t decide if the are worth the price to ask for on my wish list. But I mean, I have to love them.

I also tried on the big elephant at Nordstrom’s. I love it and think it’s fun. But I think I will stick with my lucky J.Crew factory elephant I got for $12.00. Not only does it represent so much to me, but that price. C’mon, people. elephantnecklacefourCan’t stop, won’t stop playing Adele. I think the album as a whole just sounds complete. It sounds like pieces of a puzzle that belong together so I listen to it in order and I don’t skip a thing. I feel like this is how records used to be made, like concept albums back in the day, like the Eagle’s Desperado album (which that title track is in my top three songs of all time just as an aside!). But 25 isn’t a bunch of singles. It’s a whole package. No doubt.five I’m packing. Or I mean, I am looking at my things and the boxes they need to go in which isn’t exactly the same thing. If you have ANY tips or tricks to make my life a bit more sane, please share them! I actually have a little room inspo to share with you next week that I’m excited for and yet, as I write this, there are my things, not in the boxes.mindy5 Linking up with: Darci, Natasha, Christina, April, Karli, and Amy.
